I am so excited to welcome you to Transitional Kindergarten at Fuerte. This is my fifth year of teaching Transitional Kindergarten. I have also taught Kindergarten and First Grade. All together this is my 25th year of teaching. I attended San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!), the University of San Diego and received my masters in teaching at National University. At those schools, I received a BA in Elementary Education, a master with a Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development emphasis, and a Paralegal Certificate.  I grew up in San Diego and am a fourth generation San Diegan. Growing up, I loved being active in the performing arts. My mother was the youngest female to sing in the Starlight Opera when it first began. I followed her footsteps in performing as a singer and dancer in Starlight too. My interest in ballet grew from when I was a young child. As a teanager, I received a scholarship to San Francisco Ballet School and the American Ballet School in New York. I performed many ballets at local theatres such as the Civic Theatre and as a dancer in the San Diego Opera way into adulthood.

My husband is also a native San Diegan. We had two wonderful children who have great character and love school. Our son is in college now and our daughter will be graduating from high school this year. We love spending time with family.

I am proud to be a Fuerte Falcon! I’m looking forward to a great year!
